My Why

Updated: Sep 6, 2020

My story is a long one, but I would like to tell you a little part of it.

How did I end a Sleep Coach, Newborn Care Specialist and Child Advocate? Well, I have always been that friend that people can go to for help, the one that babysits and pays attention to their younger siblings while hanging out, the one that offers to help with the difficult tasks. As I got older I decided that I wanted to continue to help people. I took Medical Assistant training, then became an Emergency Medical Technician, and just kept receiving training from there. When I took a job in an emergency room I began to narrow down exactly what I wanted to do. I became the person that got to take care of all the babies and children. I wanted to be that person!

After 8 years in the emergency room a chance to move to pediatrics presented itself and I jumped on it! I was so excited to be able to start specializing in care. I was also blessed enough to float over to the NICU and Family Birth Center while also working there. I found what I had been looking for! I wanted to help the smallest of the small, the ones without a voice, the ones that needed the most help.

When I found the Newborn Care Specialist training I knew it was what I was supposed to do. I had finally found my calling! There are so many things that I am going to be able to help families with. I will be able to make their experience the best it can be.

I have found many trainings along the way that I am fortunate enough to have planned in my future. I am also becoming a lactation educator and consultant, a birth doula, and new parent educator. I am sure that there are many other things that will present themselves to me along the way as well. But for now I am enjoying the ride and trying to help as many families as possible.

Please feel free to contact me at any point with questions that you may have, I am here to help!
